In the late 1970s, after a long dearth of commercial success in the US, Leonard Cohen hooked up with pop legend and current convict Phil Spector, expecting great things from the famously reclusive and eccentric producer. What Leonard didn't expect was to be completely shut out of the production, mixing, and arranging of the ensuing record as soon as a rough vocal track was recorded, amidst a haze of alcohol, drugs, an overabundance of guns, and Spector's own obsessively dictatorial production style.

1977's Death Of A Ladies Man was the result of this increasingly one-sided collaboration, and was denounced by Cohen fans and critics as well as Leonard Cohen himself, as overproduced, overindulgent, and overall a mess. But let's let the goodboix Lilz and Patrick decide for themselves on this episode of Jukebox Zeroes, featuring special guest and avowed Cohen fan Tim Howd of folk-rock outfit The Only Humans!
