Unsticking ourselves from the status quo, this is the first musical we've covered on this show. Directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Peter Barsocchini "High School Musical" (2006) is an extremely successful Disney channel original about a popular high school athlete and an academically gifted girl who get roles in their school's musical and develop a friendship that threatens East High's social order that stars Zac Efron, Vannessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, and Corbin Bleu.
