Mark Grimaldi, Executive Producer of The Leslie Marshall Show, guest hosts for Leslie during this interview.
He's joined by Ann Marie Cunningham, an active member of 'Fair Economy Illinois' and the 'Jane Addams Senior Caucus' for the past 6 years. She is from Chicago and is a former school teacher. Ann Marie receives Social Security and Home Care Services.
The two discuss what actions by Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner have led to vital public services being cut off in different areas of the state. They also discuss why so many people protested yesterday during 'Moral Mondays Illinois,' including the 23 who were arrested.
Ann Marie also explains some progressive ideas that could solve the budget impasse in a manner that is fair to all citizens like the 'People and Planet First Budget,' the 'LaSalle Street Tax,' and a Progressive Income Tax.
