show moreCapote's Women follows Truman Capote and the wealthy women he befriended throughout his life, who he referred to as his "Swans." Nonfiction is one of my favorite genres, but this subject matter was completely new to me. I did not know anything about Capote other than that he wrote Breakfast and Tiffany's. And his "Swans" were completely unknown to me. Normally, I like diving into a new subject matter, but I struggled to find likeable or relatable moments with any of the characters. This book was intriguing and I am looking forward to the show inspired by it, but my feelings toward the book and its characters are conflicted to say the least. What do you think of the people described in this book? Have you ever been conflicted about a book before?
