Era da tanto che non mi capitava di trovare un libro così, di quelli che non riesci a mettere giù. Parable of the Sower di Octavia Butler è uno di quelli.

ra da molto tempo che non mi capitava di trovare un libro che mi appassionasse così tanto che me lo porto dietro e appena ho un momento di tempo, che ne so, quando aspetto che l'acqua si metta a bollire, mi metto subito a sfogliarlo e a riprendere esattamente dove avevo terminato di leggere. un libro un po' difficile da leggere per la tematica, però è scritto benissimo e mi ha fatto conoscere una scrittrice di cui avevo sentito parlare molto, e avevo letto anche dei piccoli stralci, dei piccoli estratti, però non avevo mai letto un libro suo dall'inizio alla fine.
Sto parlando di Octavia Butler, una una scrittrice americana, afroamericana. Il libro di cui mi sono innamorata è, il titolo inglese Parabole of the Sower, che ho visto in italiano, con mia grande tristezza, è stato tradotto con 'la parabola del seminatore' al maschile, mentre dovrebbe essere la parabola della seminatrice, poi devo guardare un po chi l'ha tradotto questo libro per dare un po' di scappellotti virtuali.
È un libro difficile da leggere perché parla di un futuro molto, molto vicino, in cui la società si sta disgregando per mancanza di materie prime, di cibo, di acqua. La gente cerca di aggiustarsi un po' come come può, di difendersi dagli sciacalli che vanno in giro a rubare e a uccidere e a distruggere chi ha ancora un tetto sulla casa.
Però è un libro scritto molto bene, raccontato dal punto di vista, la narratrice è appunto questa questa ragazzina che all'inizio del libro ha 14 o 15 anni, io sono arrivata adesso alle ultime pagine e ne ha 18, ed è scritto molto bene perché anche se parla di cose a volte filosofiche a volte religiose, però non è lì col dito puntato a fare la predica e la voce narrante molto fresca molto bella, molto... ci si immedesima molto, infatti, appunto, questa è una caratteristica dei libri che piacciono quando, perché ci stiamo immedesimandosi con i personaggi che ci sembrano veri, vogliamo sapere come va avanti, vogliamo sapere cosa succede, vogliamo che ai personaggi le cose vadano bene.
Ripeto, mancano poche pagine alla fine, infatti anche per questo motivo oggi ho fatto i 3 minuti così tardi perché ero incollata letteralmente alla pagina, ogni volta che dicevo, adesso metto da parte e faccio qualcos'altro, poi trovavo sempre il pretesto per riprenderlo in mano e rimettermi a leggere. Sto per finirlo, dovrò subito comprarmene un altro paio di suoi, perché Octavia Butler è veramente una bravissima scrittrice.
