There are many ways to show up in your marriage, two of which are physically and emotionally. How involved and invested are you emotionally in your spouse, or are you more absent than present? Unfortunately, after we get done dating and we've locked the relationship with wedding bells and rings, it seems that all the effort of investing in the marriage is tossed out the window. Doesn't that sound like a marriage you want to be in? Probably not. And that's why we need to chat. Marriage takes two and requires effort from both parties. However, if you are getting what you want, why would you try harder? This is what happens when you have one spouse who is physically present, but emotionally absent. They do everything to keep you close enough without giving you everything you need. Literally, they are stringing you along.  They think they are providing for you, working hard for the family, and all you do is complain. They flip it on you making it your fault. They don't want to give anymore, but they want more from you.  It's when a partner like that is emotionally lazy. They're done. Now, it's all up to you to hold the marriage together. That is not a marriage! If you are in this position, you can't withstand this over time. Your marriage is dying. So what do you do if you are in this situation? The K.I.S.S. ~ Confront this dynamic in your marriage! In moments of emotional absence from a spouse, taking proactive steps can help bridge the gap and nurture emotional intimacy. Here are three strategies that can be implemented: 1. Set Clear Expectations: Establishing clear expectations for emotional availability and support can provide a roadmap for both partners. Communicate openly about your needs and boundaries to foster a deeper emotional connection. 2. Avoid Over Functioning: Rather than repeatedly pleading with your spouse for emotional engagement, focus on setting boundaries and expressing your needs assertively. Over-functioning can lead to feelings of frustration and resentment. 3. Accountability: Encourage open and honest communication about feelings and experiences. Holding each other accountable for emotional responsiveness can promote understanding and connection. In the ebb and flow of marriage, emotional stability acts as a cornerstone for navigating challenges and celebrating milestones together. It is essential for partners to be attuned to each other's emotional needs, dreams, and aspirations. "Emotional stability is the catalyst that fuels the journey of two souls intertwined in love and commitment." ~ Kristianne Wargo Embracing emotional presence in marriage means prioritizing understanding, empathy, and mutual support. By fostering emotional stability, couples can cultivate a deep sense of connection, resilience, and joy in their shared journey of love and partnership. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"   #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
