Welcome back to the vocab man. I am Daniel. I come from Switzerland and every time I come across an expression I want to learn, I write it down and then I make a podcast episode out of it. So hopefully you can learn something by listening to the vocab man. Have fun.
Anyway, not to beat a dead horse, but just to be super clear, I was looking for the key up front and I thought maybe it was on the side.
And by the way don't forget to read the transcript which is in our show notes.
Recently, I came across a great podcast in which you can learn vocabulary. So my recommendation would be to have a look at words the podcast, in each episode, the father called Juscelino and his daughter Amaya discuss different idioms or expressions, and they have to take a guess what the expression they are covering means.
I thought this is really a great idea and really funny to listen to.
This is a very short example of the podcast.
So beating a dead horse. That's what you said, right? That's, you know, cause some people eat horses. No, I'm kidding. I think, I actually think I know what it means, but I won't be able to explain it correctly. It's like, uh, like kinda like just talking too much about something.
That's how I, that's how I understand it. Okay. So beating a dead horse and the other side of the coin. So onto the definitions, so beating a dead horse, it basically means giving time or energy to something that is already over ended. I will say I was some right? Yes. I was. It's like you just go on and on and on about something.
And you don't stop. You're beating a dead horse. Do you understand what that means?
What's to say that it won't just go on and on and start a chain reaction for days I could sit there and listen to them go on and on with a big smile on my face.
So we're the podcast with two Juscelino and Amalya already has 33 episodes and they are really short ones and similar to the Vocab man. I mean they last about five minutes maybe or six minutes. I'm just having a blast by listening to them. And of course I could go on and on and on and talking about their podcast.
But the thing is you should have a look by yourself because that way you can make up your own mind.
I could go on and on about what a great guy he is.
So I will let Juscelino to wrap this episode up See you soon. Bye.
And if they want to follow us or send us something on Twitter, what can you, they do. They could go find our Twitter at words the pod. Yep. That's right. And that's it for this week. Thank you for listening. We will ABC you later...
