Fr: La nuit commençait à peine à tomber sur Paris.
En: The night was just beginning to fall over Paris.

Fr: Les lumières des lampadaires dansaient sur les pavés comme des étoiles tombées.
En: The lamp lights danced on the cobblestones like fallen stars.

Fr: Camille aimait marcher seule dans ces ruelles paisibles de Montmartre.
En: Camille loved to walk alone in these peaceful alleys of Montmartre.

Fr: Ce soir, elle était invitée chez son amie Chloé.
En: Tonight, she was invited to her friend Chloé's.

Fr: Camille s'était perdue dans sa pensée alors qu'elle montait les escaliers étroits de l'immeuble ancien où habite Chloé.
En: Lost in thought, Camille climbed the narrow stairs of the old building where Chloé lived.

Fr: Elle se trouvait devant une porte verte qu’elle a pris pour celle de Chloé.
En: She stood in front of a green door that she mistook for Chloé’s.

Fr: C'était une erreur.

Fr: Incertaine elle sortit sa clé et tenta de l'insérer dans la serrure.

Fr: " Aucune réponse.
En: No answer.

Fr: Soudain, une voix forte lui fit presque sauter de peur.
En: Suddenly, a strong voice nearly made her jump in fear.

Fr: "Qui est là ?
En: "Who's there?"

Fr: " demanda-t-il.

Fr: Camille se retourna pour voir un homme grand et musclé.
En: Camille turned around to see a tall, muscular man.

Fr: Olivier.
En: Olivier.

Fr: "Oh, je suis désolée !
En: "Oh, I'm sorry!

Fr: Je pensais que c'était l'appartement de Chloé", balbutia Camille.
En: I thought this was Chloé's apartment," stammered Camille.

Fr: Olivier la regarda surpris puis ria doucement.
En: Olivier looked at her, surprised, then chuckled softly.

Fr: "Non, c'est le mien.
En: "No, this is mine.

Fr: Mais Chloé habite à l'étage en dessous.
En: But Chloé lives one floor down.

Fr: Tu t'es trompée d'un étage.
En: You got the wrong floor."

Fr: "Camille sentit le rouge lui monter aux joues.
En: Camille felt the blush rise to her cheeks.

Fr: Elle s’excusa et rapidement, descendit à l’étage inférieur sans oser regarder en arrière.
En: She apologized and quickly made her way to the lower floor without daring to look back.

Fr: Elle retrouva la bonne porte, celle de Chloé, et secoua la tête, amusée par son erreur.
En: She found the right door, Chloé’s door, and shook her head, amused by her mistake.

Fr: Ainsi, l'erreur de Camille fut corrigée et la soirée poursuivit son cours.
En: And so, Camille's mistake was corrected, and the evening continued.

Fr: Elle rigola toute soirée avec Chloé de cet incident et finalement rentra chez elle rassurée.
