There’s possibly a growing rebellion against greedy senior facilities requiring $7-10k per month Alzheimer’s care that are commonly understaffed as unregulated. Apparently, the cheapest way to deal with the burden now is relatives with a Power of Attorney to rent a cheap apartment. The owners of the apartment building can’t lawfully turn away disabilities situations.
Perhaps the patient requested this apartment method be used as a way of ending their life sooner.
