Halloween is what you make it! Every October, sleepy Fairhaven, MASS erupts with ambitiously creative spookery. Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts appear courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local "home haunters," who have devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster making and haunted decorating.
THE AMERICAN SCREAM film documentary follows three of these families to uncover the triumphs and tragedies that come with carrying on the true Halloween DIY spirit.
We are talking with THE AMERICAN SCREAM producer Zack Carlson, who claims to have been born in a pizza. He is a programmer for the Alamo Drafthouse, and writes and produces movies. He also co-wrote the book DESTROY ALL MOVIES, but that was a whole year ago. He doesn't eat fruit or vegetables.
THE AMERICAN SCREAM will premiere on NBCUniversal's Chiller network October 28 at 8:00 PM ET and will be screening in select theaters through November.
