Ann Jones Profile:
US country performer (nee Ann Matthews) (B:1920 - D:6 March 1986) was part of the western swing scene of the 1940 and '50s, notably playing on the West Coast in various live venues and radio programs. She became a bandleader in the early 1950's, leading the "all girl" country group, Ann Jones And Her Western Sweethearts over the course of several decades. One of her longest collaborators was steel player Blanche Emerson, in the band right through to the late 1970s.
