December 1st, 1994, started out like a normal day unlike any other for 19-year-old Melissa "Missy" Witt in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She spent the first part of the morning with her mother, Mary Ann, had lunch with a friend at the Central Mall Food Court and then went to a class at Westark Community College. She then headed to her jog as a dental assistant. When Missy got home, she found a note from her mom, telling her to come to the Bowling World bowling alley and she would buy her a burger for dinner. Mary Ann had bowling league every Thursday night. So Missy did just that. She changed clothes and headed to Bowling World and parked in the Northwest corner of the lot between 6:30 and 7:00 pm. But Melissa Witt never made it inside the establishment.
The only trace of her was her car keys, a single gold-tone hoop earring, a crushed butterfly hair clip...and pools of blood near her car. Melissa had vanished from a bowling alley parking lot and was never to be seen again alive. Her body was found more than a month later on a rural stretch of road. The police had very few tips, even fewer suspects and even today, 30 years later, Melissa Witt's killer has never been found.
