show moreThis week on Expedition Self, we will talk about what it takes to ‘Avoid Setting Yourself Up’ when taking on new habits, activities, and goals.
It’s that time of year when people get all focused and motivated to start anew and make change through resolutions or new commitments. And it’s also the time when the psyche gets ‘set up and banged up’ by the very person who set the whole thing in motion and wants to elevate themselves into the next state of personal satisfaction and fulfillment. YOU!
This week on Expedition Self, we’re going to talk about how to navigate the ‘push and pull’ of forward movement.
Human beings are always looking for a restart to improve their economic status, their health, their overall well being, and their sense of possibility and expectation of the future.
Unfortunately, the way most handle this is to become dominant and demanding with themselves which then activates unknown resistance and resentment within the Self. Oftentimes, the heart is sadly seen as a deterrent from making ‘IT’ happen and it’s managed in a way that constrains and suffocates its’ natural flow.
Truth is that most people abandon their resolutions within the first 3 months of the year. Rather than seeing this new beginning as a way of extending a wider net for and throughout the Self, it’s seen as a reason to get overly firm, disciplined and demanding as if we were doing something wrong as the premise for needing the change to begin with.
Sam will discuss the process of wanting change and how to actually create change to make it more clear how you can get the ‘lift’ you’re wanting in the coming days ‘without selling your heart out’.
You will better understand why it’s no surprise that the efforts to create something new melt away too quickly, and the deeper desires that motivated those efforts go unmet.
You won’t want to miss this hour if you are willing to take your life to the next level, while ensuring you hold space for your WHOLE SELF. Grab your journal, come with your hopes for the year, and prepare to ‘self-love’ your way into the very outcomes you want most.
