show more- Carol Couchie is an Indigenous Registered Midwife who practices in her home community of Nibising First Nation in Ontario. She has practiced midwifery in several Indigenous communities in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. She is currently a Co-Chair of the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives.
- Nathalie Pambrun is a FrancoManitoban Métis midwife who has practiced in urban, rural and remote communities across Canada and internationally. Bridging environmental and reproductive justice movements at the community level, she embraces a human rights approach that effectively respects the coming generations. She is committed to midwifery care that is accessible, equitable, and culturally safe. Nathalie served as the Canadian Association of Midwives (CAM) President from November 2018 to November 2020. She is CAM’s first Indigenous midwife to serve as President.
- laire Dion Fletcher graduated from the Midwifery Education Program (MEP) at Ryerson University in 2013, and recently completed her M.A. in Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies at York University. Her research focus was on Indigenous midwifery and decolonizing health care. She is a Lenape-Potawatomi and mixed settler midwife practising at Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto, where she serves an urban Indigenous clientele. Claire is currently a Co-Chair of the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives (NACM).
