show moreAled Ab Lorwerth has been at CMHC as deputy chief economist since 2016. Prior to then he had held a series of positions in economic research, mostly at the federal Department of Finance. Aled has a Phd in economics from Western University, London, and was born in Richmond Hill, but grew up in Wales - hence the Welsh name.
The main questions we discuss relate to the housing market - why should we worry about affordability, what has been driving house prices, what should we do about it - increase supply! And who is responsible - municipal governments!
