Brien Blakely joins WJZY as weekday anchor of “Good Day Charlotte” alongside Page Crawford and Barbara Lash, effective January 11, 2016, announced station Vice President and News Director, Karen Koutsky.

In making the announcement, Koutsky stated, “Brien had instant chemistry with Page and Barbara from the moment he came on set. He will bring an interesting dynamic to our morning news and we are excited to welcome him back to Charlotte.”

Most recently, Blakely served as morning anchor and reporter at KCPQ in Seattle. Previously, he was the main anchor for WCCB in Charlotte. Prior to that, Blakely was morning anchor for KPNX in Phoenix. Before anchoring local news, he hosted a variety of shows, including an entertainment news show on E!, a remodeling show on Home and Garden TV and a magazine show for National Enquirer TV. Earlier, he served as a sideline correspondent for “Battle Dome.”

A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Blakely holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

Blakely added, "I'm excited to join the WJZY family and look forward to helping the Fox 46 viewers start their day. My family is thrilled to come back home."
