show moreI’d love to be a fly on the wall. To watch the way people wake up. I know how silly and whacked out I must look. That first step of the morning might as well be on Mars, “NASA the lack of gravity is making me feel a little wobbly.” I honestly find incredible joy in waking up at 4:30am. Probably because I’m usually meditating at 3:00am. Nidra is some pretty powerful stuff. Through patience and the art of listening the journey becomes your physical walk on earth. But hey that doesn’t guarantee a bright beautiful day. Once up I write. Nothing happens until I write. That’s the daily discipline 27 years strong. There are days though when the page sits empty. I can never assume it’s going to fill itself. The censors are ringing too loudly. I can’t move. The censors want to choose what it shall breathe. The censors! Those voices in your head and heard that are judging you at 4:30am. The other side of my personality is shouting, “You can’t allow the censors to have control! It’s all about free form. This is not a one lane street in a one traffic light town.” The censors! It’s not always a cool place to be. Spiritually speaking being too open always has a way of inviting spirits that have already flown. Oh heck yes! Those censors want your past ghosts and skeletons to help injure your morning rise and shine. No wonder most writers instantly label their moment with the term: Writers Block. From there the next step is to huddle up in a corner to do nothing more than wait for another creative opportunity. Yeah not me. Not a well thought out first step on a planet waiting to be discovered. Absolutely we all feel like we’re locked behind several layers of unperfected new age habits, guilt, shame and doubt. Let it go. No anger. No sadness. Don’t be the only rover on the surface of a self-created Mars taking snap shots of what looks like a desert floor. Push the play button. If it’s stuck push it again. You really are here. Let the censors know of your presence. Prove your strength by recognizing your rightful place in this new day.
