Today’s topic is Cedric the Entertainer on Ebonliner. I loved it when Cedric the Entertainer starred in Barbershop. I loved the part when he gave his honest opinion about Rosa Parks.
(Eddie) Cedric: Man she was tired. That’s what you do when you’re tired. You sit yourself down.
But you know he used the curse words.
Cedric: I got thrown in jail, and I didn’t hear from nobody …Her act led up to the movement and everything. There was a whole lot of black folks that sat down on the bus, and they got thrown in jail, and they did it way before Rosa did.
There’s a whole lot of black folks that don’t give their honest opinion that way. Cedric played a character that spoke from the heart. To me, that was a true character he was playing. In real life, a character like that can get beat up. I guess you can say he was tired like Rosa. Sometimes you can do brave things when you’re tired. Cedric played the character Eddie.
Cedric is an awesome actor and stand-up comedian. He hosted BET's ComicView during the 1993–1994 season and Def Comedy Jam in 1995. Cedric can tell some great jokes. He is best known for co-starring with Steve Harvey on The WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show. He starred in the TV Land original series The Soul Man, which aired from 2012 to 2016. He has also done voice work for Ice Age and Charlotte’s Web. He currently stars on the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood. In 2019, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
