As a husband and father of three Chris Peters has a lot to work for.
As former Division I water polo player for the University of California, Irvine, began his career working in financial sales. Chris soon realized that he missed the camaraderie, team work, fast paced decision making under pressure and made it his goal to become a firefighter.
Completing all the necessary schooling to become a firefighter, Chris started as a career firefighter in 2009, working for National City Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT. During his time in National City he received valuable experience running a high volume of acute calls, structure fires, traffic accidents and became a certified paramedic.
National City had a financial crisis that threatened Chris’ position. He accepted a lateral Firefighter/Paramedic position with Carlsbad Fire Department. His time in Carlsbad has allowed him to operate as a tactical medic with local SWAT teams, negotiate labor contracts, work as a union representative, start a new city run lifeguard program and become an Engineer.
