We look into the possibilities that some of the plant based symbolism in some of the degrees of Freemasonry may be references to psychedelic entheogens. Acacia leaves, ergot, and the Fly Agaric mushrooms are some of the plants described in either direct or symbolic language. We also delve into how some of the ancient mystery school religions may have used psychedelics in their rituals and initiations and how these ancient schools have influenced modern day Freemasonry.
