In 2002, “Couch Tour” came out of Long Beach, NY. The New York cult classic surf video was directed by Dave Juan, filmed by Mike Nelson, edited by Brian Walsh, and produced under the Unsound Surf Shop Banner. It highlighted the surf scene of the Northeast and has been a classic ever since.The film was one of the original NY surfing films to be made in the 21st century, featuring incredible footage from the 9/11 swell and mind blowing surfing from Cali transplant, Ryan Carlson and supported by a list of whose who of New York surfing at the time. The video really shined a light on the local surfers and helped to define what core surfing was.
