Darren LaPrise, band director at West Catholic High School, sits down with John Gonzalez of West Catholic Live to talk about the his band's Division 1 / Superior rating at the MSBOA Marching Band Festival on Oct. 11 in Zeeland. The band was forced to perform in an auditorium because of rain.

"Because of the weather (Tuesday) night, our performance was moved inside. We were on our way to Zeeland in a massive caravan when we found out. Our parents and our kids handled a crazy situation beautifully. It was really the of no one that we had to suddenly change gears from what we had been prepared for," he said.

By the way, if you want to see the band perform its full show OUTDOOR, you can see them at halftime of Friday's football game or at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, when it performs at Allendale High School as part of a showcase with other schools.
