Welcome to Day 1644 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomDon't Give Up – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! We are on Day 1644 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Coach Tom Landry, and it is: A champion is simply someone who did not give in when he wanted to.
Don’t Give Up
Perseverance is the golden key to success and being a champion. Without perseverance, the likelihood of failure and loss increases dramatically. Perseverance is not easy. It means that you keep going in the face of severe opposition. It means that you keep going, even when you are exhausted. It means you keep going even when you feel like giving up. Others may look at the life of Granny and me and think, well, they have had it easy, or they just seem to keep going no matter what. Believe me; we have not lived on easy street. We both came from very humble childhoods, with nothing in the way of material resources. Since we have been married, we have had to work extremely hard, and have put in many long days. We have also scrimped and saved, willing to put off obtaining what we desire now, for what we hope for long term. At times, we have been misunderstood and have been called scrooge because of our conservative spending habits. That is ok with us, Granny and I are closely aligned in our thoughts about spending and investing. We like to invest in the long term. It does require perseverance to do so, but so does victory in any area of our lives. If we live just for today, we will have many sad tomorrows. We also need to be victorious champions in our spiritual lives. We need to continue, even when we feel like giving up. We need to rejoice that we have the God-given strength to persevere.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
