show moreHello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Gramps, and it is: A good name is gained one step at a time, but can be lost with one slip of character.
One Step, One Slip
There is no easy path to a life of integrity, respect, and a good reputation. Instead, it is gained and earned one step at a time. It is like building a solid brick house that starts with a solid foundation firmly attached to the underlying bedrock. It is built slowly, one brick at a time. There are no shortcuts, no compromise, no weaknesses. It requires solid bricks cemented together with the mortar of our daily lives. That mortar is the daily grind that, at the time, is not overly exciting nor appealing. It is sticking to doing what is right, even when you do not feel like it. But, on the flip side, our good name and reputation can be destroyed by one slip of our integrity. Compromising our integrity is like a tornado from the storms of life that can appear seemingly out of nowhere with little warning and destroy your life like an actual tornado will destroy your solid brick house. Stand firm when the storms of life come, and watch out for those tornadoes that can spring up and destroy you.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
