show moreAaron and Damion Hall are widely known for their lead and participation in the R&B group, “Guy.” The group also had two other members, Timmy Gatling who left shortly after their first album, and Teddy Riley.
Although the group was created in the late '80s, Guy was a part of the New Jack Swing era of the '90s as well. This was evident with the single on the soundtrack of the movie “Juice.”
Born only four years apart, Aaron, the older brother, was born August, 10, 1964 and Damion on June 6, 1968. They were both raised in Bronx, New York they grew up in Brooklyn, where creativity runs rampant.
Damion Hall replaced Gatling in 1988 after his decision to leave after the self-titled album, Guy. That album was released on the Uptown Records label and afforded Damion to go on the tour with the group and another R&B group named New Edition. After about five singles were released, the album went double platinum.
