Born as Dennis Andrew Nilsen on November 23, 1945; to parents Elizabeth Duhthie Whyte (AKA Betty Whyte with y and not an i) and Olav Magnus Mokshame in Fraserburah, Aberdeenshure - a small fishing village in Scotland. Dennis was a serial killer and necrophile who had murdered at least 12 young boys and men between the years of 1978 and 1983 in London. His moniker was Muswell Hill Murderer as he committed his final murders in the Muswell Hill district of North London. He has also been referred to as the “British Jeffrey Dahmer”. He was convicted of 6 counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in November of 1983, with the recommendation that he serve a minimum of 25 years. Things with his sentence changed in December of 1994 but we’ll delve more into that in this episode. On May 10, 2018, Dennis Nilsen was experiencing some stomach pain to which he was then transported to York Hospital. They found a ruptured aortic aneurysm that they were able to repair via surgery. However, he then suffered from a blood clot, following the surgery, and died on May 12, 2018.He was cremated in June of 2018 and only 5 people attended his service – none of whom were members of his family.
