Roller shutter doors are one of the most popular choices in the world for a wide variety of applications. They’re used in garages, residential buildings, commercial spaces and much more. The way to control them however can be different. Here are the different types of roller shutter controls.
Traditional roller shutters came with key switch roller shutter control. These panels worked by having the key slotted in and then turned in an up or down direction to control the shutter curtain. However, the limitation of such control panels is the physical need for the key to be held in the on position at all times to operate the roller shutter. To counter this limitation, rocker switch or push-button controls were introduced which are keyless. These require either a sprung switch or button knobs to control the shutter curtain. The simple press of a button is enough to start or stop them.
However, most roller shutter controls these days work with remote controls. Thanks to the wireless handheld unit which transmits a signal to a receiver positioned within the control panel, modern shutter curtains can be controlled from a safe distance and with incredible ease.
