"It's too far away and you have a lot of spiders and snakes and kangaroos," laughed Jonas Heidgert, vocalist for Swedens Dragonland when explaining why they have never graced our shores in their nineteen-year existence. "This show isn't going to be like anything we've ever done. We've never played as long of a set before. Everybody is ridiculously hyped about this so... To say that we're excited is a BIG understatement. I'm going to be in hyper mode so you will get long shows and a lot of songs and a big party!"
In the full interview Jonas discusses his early vision for Dragonland and how it has changed over the years, the difficulties in breaking into the global music industry before the massive surge of the internet, his dual role as drummer and vocalist on the first two albums and why he threw the sticks away and concentrated on frontman duties, the changes he had to make without a drum kit to hide behind, how the band has changed musically over the course of their career and an insight into new music after a seven-year absence from the studio.
