show moreAs you all know, Sam is a Chicago Cubs fan, and he speaks of how it has made him numb to many ridicules of life. With that, Phil offers a similar life-long pain, but with ALL of his sports team. The Cavaliers, Indians (now Guardians), and Browns have offered Phil such little joy in years past that he entered a bet with a co-worker to come up with a Cleveland sports-based tragedy for every day of the year! He talks about how easy it was, at the start and then something that got in his way, in 2016... It led to his book, "Hard to Believeland: The Cavaliers Won the NBA! The Indians Won the AL! The Browns Won a Game!"
Along the way, Sam couldn't help but give Phil some guff about a certain something, and Phil was game!
They talk about new baseball rules, how they feel about things taking place within the game, today, and how players could cure the issue of the shift. Sam threatens Little Matt with a comment he makes, but they all could actually see it happening! It gets to the point of how they could see Mike Trout knocking on Little Matt's door with laundry detergent?! Yeah, you probably should listen to that!
The group talks about player favorites from their past and Phil shares how certain actions by the original owner of the Baltimore Ravens made seeing them win the bane of his existence! How many of those actions by the Ravens make the list? You will have to find out!
The conversation moves to Phil being a fan of college sports, and they talk about the newest Cinderella in the NCAA tournament.
Richey brings up another event from Phil's life that is of great interest: he was a contestant on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," in 2003! The guys talk about how Phil was able to get on the show, and what question on which he ended his time on the show.
This hang-out was ABSOLUTELY a fantastic time for the guys! They gave Phil an anytime invite back to the Lounge if that tells you how much it was enjoyed! SO, sit back, relax, and enjoy the time with Cleveland sports fan, and author, Phil Barth!
