Robert Miguel went live from the El Progreso Memorial Library’s temporary spot at 601 Dean St (Benson School) for the grand finale of their annual summer reading program! Hundreds of kids, parents, and caregivers showed up to celebrate a summer of reading with snacks, a magic show, face painting, and tons of prizes. Special guests included Kathy and Mary Rose from Hope Worldwide, who were helping with disaster relief after recent flooding, and Ashtyn Nadebaum, Uvalde CASA Volunteer Recruiter, also representing the Bluebonnet Advocacy Center. Robert chatted with all three about the day’s events, their roles, and their organizations’ missions. He wrapped up the broadcast with Library Director Tammie Sinclair, who shared an overview of the event that capped off another amazing summer at Uvalde’s historic library, a cherished community hub.
