show moreIt’s 1971. The country is coming out of a tumultuous decade, and most are trying to adapt to lessons learned from the Civil Rights Movement. Many people remember the L.A. riots, and the more recent unrest in city streets the past few years. Our stories in this episode play out in the Northeast, in a relatively small piece of time, but their lessons are large, and their impact sent ripples nationwide.
Our main focus: The Attica Prison Uprising, and tangentially: Bridgeton and Camden NJ civil unrest(ABC’s). Also discussed, prison revolts in Trenton and Rahway.
