show moreThis surgery has a 77% success rate, but research is showing that patients regain much of their weight as time goes by. After 5 years only 56% are still at their ideal weight.
Weight loss surgery doesn’t teach you healthier eating patterns & it can’t help you overcome sugar/carb addiction. Plus, it’s possible to eat a small volume of food and still be overweight.
Studies also show, that in time, the stomach actually expands and can hold a larger amount of food.
The weight gain comes so strong because during weight loss surgery the majority of the weight you lose is muscle. This causes the skin to become flabby and saggy. Which is why a lot of people who have weight loss surgery get another surgery to get rid of loose skin. Surgeries and being cut on is extremely taxing on the body.
