show moreOn the surface, it seems like a reasonable idea: most people would equate this with "keeping firearms out of the hands of people who are mentally ill and have shows signs of wanting to perpetrate a mass murder." While that makes for a nice headline, it's time for an honest discussion about the potential abuse by powerful politicians and cronies who wield economic as well as social power.
If "red flag" firearms ownership laws are passed, who decides the parameters for a "mentally ill" label?
