Head of Commercial at Sky Sports NZ Justin has set in motion the establishment of a new women’s competition in New Zealand, Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa that gives Kiwi talent a chance to play at home and contribute to the growth of the Tall Ferns program - all with financial stability and a solid broadcast partnership. Already attracting big name stars back to play and coach in the competition the excitement is building across New Zealand and internationally.

Starting with a clean slate, a commercial mindset and a deep desire to raise the profile and quality of women’s basketball in New Zealand Justin takes us on the journey from what he first encountered to what’s going to be.

Describing what he found when he arrived from Melbourne to lead Basketball New Zealand as the “Wild West”, he shares some stories and what was the catalyst for this new competition.

His belief that the secret to the success of a sport is centred on fan inclusion and working hard he gives us a great insight into a basketball nation that has its eyes firmly fixed on the future and giving the basketball community something to rally around.
