The mysterious disappearance of Frederick Valentich remains one of Australia’s most haunting unsolved aviation cases. On October 21, 1978, 20-year-old pilot Valentich was flying a Cessna 182L from Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne to King Island when he reported strange lights in the sky, claiming he was being followed by an unidentified aircraft. As his conversation with air traffic control continued, Valentich’s voice became increasingly frantic, with his final words—"That strange aircraft is hovering on top of me again... It is not an aircraft"—before radio contact was lost. His plane was never found, and Valentich was presumed dead.

Join Matthew & Holly as they examine the official investigation into the disappearance, the unusual circumstances surrounding Valentich's final transmission, and the various theories surrounding what may have happened to him.
