The Great Emu War is one of Australia’s most absurd and unexpectedly comical chapters in history. When crops in Western Australia were decimated by a plague of hungry emus, the desperate farmers turned to the military for help. Armed with machine guns, soldiers set out to eliminate the birds, but the emus had other plans. Despite the military's best efforts, the flightless birds proved remarkably elusive, outmaneuvering their human adversaries and leaving the soldiers baffled and defeated.

Join Holly & Matthew as they explore the hilarious and unexpected tale of the Great Emu War, where the emus came out on top in the most improbable battle Australia has ever seen.
