For episode 1 of The Way In, I got to sit with three members of Freebin Records, a sprawling arts collective born at the Omega Institute in New York. Tyler Epps, Paul Lyons, and Sekaya are all three musicians (and, lucky for me, part of the audio-visual team at Omega!) After they showed me how to set up my recording equipment, we sat down for a fun conversation about life, art, and, of course, what exactly is in the Freebin.

BONUS:
A glossary of terms listeners may appreciate for this episode.

The Omega Institute, or Omega: A holistic retreat center in the Hudson Valley that runs from May through October and employs a seasonal staff comprised entirely of awesome people doing amazing things. The birthplace of Freebin Records. www.eomega.org for more information on retreats and/or jobs at Omega.
Long House: A public space where staff often congregate when they are not working. The more specific birthplace of Freebin Records.
The Bench, aka the Smoker's Bench: A bench where people (both staff and participants) sit and smoke cigarettes, within the designated smoking area.
Golfcart (or just "cart"): How some seasonal staff get around at Omega
Trailer: Just what it sounds like, but it might be helpful to know that Omega houses most of its seasonal staff in trailers. They live in the Trailer Park or "TP."
