show moreTonight the Honchos returned to their normal timeslot with their usual shenanigans. The Honchos started the showgram with an apology from Rob for the show starting late and then dove right into the worst idea ever for a children's show courtesy of Denmark.
The sports yak started in earnest with a review of Alabama's CFP Championship over Ohio State. This was followed by a celebration of the opening of the 2021 NHL season as well as a look at the NBC studio analyst and announce team changes for the upcoming season. They discussed Evander Kane's bankruptcy, the grim financial forecast for the 2021 season from Commissioner Bettman, and the games to be played in Lake Tahoe in February.
The Honchos focused their MLB energies on the future of DJ LeMahieu in the Bronx and paid tribute to the late, great Tommy Lasorda (complete with audio clips of Mr. Lasorda). Before turning to the NFL the Honchos briefly examined the James Harden trade from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets.
The NFL Recap was exclusively about the twin tripleheaders that were Super Wild Card Weekend and looked ahead to this coming weekend's divisional round. Can anyone beat the Chiefs and Packers?
Aaron Rodgers is going to be a guest host on Jeopardy. The Honchos mulled that decision and wondered if Rodgers has what it takes to host America's favorite game show.
The Honchos finished strong with Seconds of Soccer and a special DOTW - two winners for the price of one! Congrats to Pittsburgh Steelers WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool.
