show moreIt is April and the Honchos sprung into action tonight with another shower of sports talk goodness. Okay. No more Spring references. The show opened with some good news about a friend of the show and what happens when people who own castles run afoul of the local authorities.
The bucket of sports was opened with a review of Baylor's NCAA tournament finals victory over Gonzaga and discovered that Baylor is no Finland. The Honchos then examined the notion of how paying NCAA athletes impacts Title IX and non-revenue sports.
The NHL/NBA/MLB segment opened with some NHL trade talk (complete with breaking trade news), the Vancouver Canucks battle with Covid-19, and a great story about New York Rangers coach Mike Keenan from former player Tony Amonte. The segment ended with a spirited look at the MLB's decision to move the All-Star game from Atlanta to Coors Field in Colorado.
The NFL Recap segment was again dominated by QBs - Sam Darnold being traded, the continuing saga of Deshaun Watson and the increasing number of sexual assault allegations against him, and Aaron Rodgers' rather sleepy turn as guest host of Jeopardy.
The Honchos then turned their attention to the LA County Sheriff's Department finally revealing the cause of the February crash involving Tiger Woods as well as why soccer is not taking hold in America like in other countries before ending the show as they always do with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner was former NBA great Paul Pierce.
