Lindsay Buziak's unsolved homicide remains one of Canada’s most infamous cold cases. On Feb. 2, 2008, the 24-year-old realtor was scheduled to show a Saanich home to a potential buyer. However, the woman caller had a foreign accent and made Lindsay uncomfortable. The woman wanted to see a million-dollar home in Saanich.

Lindsay told both her father, Jeff Buziak, and her boyfriend, Jason Zailo, that something seemed suspicious about the phone call. Police later said the call was made from a cellphone purchased in Vancouver under a false name and used only once for luring Lindsay to the home.
Lindsay asked her boyfriend to attend the showing with her. Zailo arrived 10 minutes late with a friend. The two men waited outside for Lindsay.

Zailo told officers that as he waited, he saw a man and woman open the front door and then close it again. Zailo tried the front door, but found it locked. His friend found the back door open. Zailo entered and found Lindsay dead in an upstairs bedroom. Someone had stabbed her at least 40 times.
