Overthinking is disastrous for our well-being. When we overthink, we are basically letting our brains work against us. Our brain power gets used to create the opposite of the results we want and it feels terrible all throughout. It literally has no upside, but only has downside.
In previous episode, we talked about how overthinking affects our physical health and productivity. In this episode, we talk about how overthinking hurts our relationships and impacts our mental health. It’s our choice whether we want to let overthinking control our experience of life or we take control of it and stop it from affecting us.
We also talk about 3 simple steps to stop overthinking. These steps are simple but not easy to implement. Learning how to stop your own overthinking is a skill you can learn. The way you do that is by taking an expert’s help to learn it and practice.
It’s a skill that can be learned similar to other skills however this is one of the most important skill you can ever learn and comes right after the basic life skills for survival.
When I learnt this skill, I was in awe of my coach. I was surprised how so very few people know it, let alone teach it. Nobody teaches it – this is so basic and integral to our experience that it should be taught in schools.
