YOGA BUSINESS series Part 2 Clare- Jivamukti Yoga Bern
.
“Yoga business isn’t yoga”- David Life
.
We start our exploration with these wise words of my teacher and co founder of the Jivamukti Yoga method David Life. Yoga and business how do they go together and do they even go together? We live in a capitalist society, so in modern yoga, in this modern world we respond to that society in a capitalist way, but where is the bhakti in that?
.
This and a lot more is up for discussion with three amazing beings. Austin from Urban Sadhu in New Jersey, Clare from Jivamukti Yoga Bern and Nora from India. This second episode is with Clare, who is all BHAKTI, all HEART, all LOVE! We discuss YOGA as we see it, bhakti, the love for teaching and Clare’s view on yoga as a business and the relationship to money. Plus we discuss her journey in India and her book Mysore to the Mountains. LINK IN BIO!

“Sometimes when I am teaching I feel a deep love for the universe manifested in those practitioners I see before me. I am lucky that these “sometimes” are frequent. I love without judgement to evaluation. It feels like (here I am trying to describe the undescribable) a warm safe blanket, or the warm saline ocean. I feel held, and perfectly at peace.“ Clare Nicholls.
About Clare:
Since 2001 Clare has practiced asana and views the physical process as a way of undoing the habits we hold in our bodies and releasing the past to create space for the future. Clare began teaching in 2005 with a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma, in 2011 she qualified to teach Jivamukti Yoga, becoming advanced certified in 2017.
In 2014 and 2015 Clare travelled around India, experiencing many sites of pilgrimage and integrating an understanding of the philosophies into her life, practice and teaching. She wrote a book about this experience called Mysore to the Mountains.
From 2018 Clare was blessed to have the opportunity to move to Bern where she now teachers and mentors at Jivamukti Yoga Bern.
