As of November 8, 2024, Lake Texoma is offering some excellent fishing opportunities. The lake's elevation is currently 1.84 feet below pool, and the surface temperatures are ranging between 75 to 81 degrees, depending on the area.

For those planning to head out, sunrise is at around 6:45 AM, and sunset will be at approximately 5:15 PM. The weather is expected to be mild, making it ideal for a day on the water.

Fish activity has been robust, particularly for striped bass. These fish are biting well on live shad near river channels and flat areas, with some topwater action observed early in the day along rocky banks.

Largemouth bass are also active, responding well to crankbaits, Texas-rigged worms, and spinners. Drifting live baits in less than 20 feet of water has been producing good results. You might also catch some on swimbaits in the rocky coves, especially in the south end of the lake.

Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared baits, with big blues being caught while drifting in 40-50 feet of water along flats. Smaller catfish are found on ledges in 20-30 feet of water.

Crappie fishing is fair, with catches coming from boat houses using minnows and small shad. Jigs are inconsistent but starting to show some activity in 8-12 feet of water.

For the best results, focus on areas like the main lake ledges and humps near flats, and keep an eye out for gulls working active schools of fish. Swimbaits and live bait below these birds can yield significant catches.

Hot spots include the rocky banks early in the day for striped bass and the south end of the lake for largemouth bass targeting large boulders. The flats and ledges in 12-25 feet of water are also productive for a variety of species.

Overall, it's a great time to be out on Lake Texoma, with plenty of fish to go around and favorable conditions to make your fishing trip enjoyable.
