Sean Kelly is a Toronto based Musician, Author and Educator. Sean’s multi-faceted career has allowed him to work in many different facets of the music industry.

Sean recently authored the book Metal On Ice : Tales from Canada’s Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Heroes for Dundurn Press, and also co-produced and played guitar on the accompanying EP Metal On Ice ; Tunes from Canada’s Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Heroes (Coalition Records/Warner Music Canada)

Sean is currently the lead guitarist for Grammy Award winning artist Nelly Furtado, a position which has seen him tour the world and perform on programs such as The Tonight Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Billboard Awards, MTV specials and many more. Sean has also toured and/or recorded with Helix, Gilby Clarke (ex GnR), Carole Pope and Rough Trade, Howie D (Backstreet Boys), David Clayton Thomas, Dan Hill, Wild Strawberries, Carl Dixon, 69 Duster, Vibrolux , Chad Richardson among others.

As an Artist in his own right, Sean fronted his own band Crash Kelly, who managed to secure a recording contract with Century Media records and tour with such rock n roll legends as Alice Cooper and The Quireboys. Crash Kelly has seen 4 albums released worldwide. Having studied Classical Guitar at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music with the legendary Eli Kassner, Sean also records solo nylon string guitar records for the prestigious Opening Day Entertainment Group, home to the world famous Canadian Brass. His album The #1 Classical Guitar Album was a top selling Classical album in 2007, and 2008’s Christmas Guitar earned him his first US Billboard Top 10 chartings in the Classical, Holiday, and New Age charts.

Sean Kelly has recently turned his focus to songwriting with and for other artists, and has written with artists such as Nelly Furtado, Alan Frew (Glass Tiger), Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness) Honeymoon Suite, Helix, and Gilby Clarke.
