Flaming Wrekage are one of those bands that consistently deliver.
Be it through their music, recordings, or live performances the band has always given 100% and has been rewarded by a solid fan base that grows considerably with each passing month.
With their latest single “The Voiceless” out now, vocalist/guitarist Dave Lupton sat down with HEAVY to talk about the song and life within the Flaming Wrekage camp.
"This one was... I've gotta say it was a bit of a challenge in every way - musically, lyrically - but we're pretty confident. When we were writing the album this was the one... I've been trying to write a song in this kind of style for a long time. It's got those ebbs and flows and the big, hooky chorus and also that heavy middle section as well so all of the death metalheads will be after that I'm sure (laughs). I'm really proud of this one. It clocks in at almost six minutes but it doesn't really feel like it. It takes you on a bit of a journey and its strung together with some strong riffs. That’s the foundation of the band really, but especially in this song."
In the full interview Dave talks about the personal nature of the song and the meaning behind it, the difficulties he had in writing, playing and singing the song due to its subject content, Flaming Wrekage’s upcoming album and its direction, not being able to play live, consolidating on past experiences and more.
