When Jodie and Steve Marks welcomed their twin boys in March 2020, they never imagined that hospital restrictions and a devastating diagnosis would force them to make an unthinkable choice—which baby they would each "choose" to stay with. What should have been a time of hope, love, and bonding was instead filled with separation, impossible decisions, and heartbreaking loss. As the world shut down, they found themselves trapped by policies that prioritized rules over the very thing their son needed most—their presence.
