Back in 2006 our society debated the utility of stem cells in medical treatments, and in Part One Blinded By Science, O and Zee will examine a Rush Limbaugh broadcast that demonstrated the use of science and propaganda as a political tool. The startling thing is the degree to which not much has changed: the media, in concert with elites who wish to control science, control truth and ultimately deny us the ability to engage in rational discourse, are presenting figures who are false heroes. Anyone who speaks with the appearance of scientific authority is to be accepted as a supreme authority, and that authority is accorded to celebrities who support the march to collectivism. Who has vested these figures with authority, and is truth and actual science even a factor when judging someone worthy of our attention. In 2024 it seems that all it takes is a bit of notoriety and soft interviews to put someone on that authoritative pedestal.

We have been warned about the semblance of science, and yet those lessons failed us as we quickly donned masks and flocked to platforms that gave us hot takes and a continual stream of pseudoscience as the elite attempted to manipulate us. What has really changed? Are the new heroes just a form of entertainment to keep us in this endless cycle?
