Episode XXXI: FOUR GIRLS, FOUR BEERS: It is Thursday and the means another live episode of the Galactic Coast Power Hour tonight at 7pm. We are really excited to welcome in studio Jennifer Edwards, a founder, owner and lead brewer at 4J Brewing Company. The Houston/Spring Branch-based 4J Brewing Company opened this past March and is the only 100% FEMALE OWNED / 100% FEMALE BREWER brewery we are aware of. Jennifer is the youngest of four sisters (Jessica, Jackie, Joanna, and Jennifer) which gives you an idea of where the name “4J” came from. We look forward to digging deep into the 4J story and discussing all of the challenges to opening and operating a brewery and what is next and possibly further down the road and we likely might even touch on the state of brewery laws in Texas. On that note, we will discuss the upcoming 2019 Houston’s Hottest Brewers Calendar, benefitting the Texas CraftPac, Release Party (Brewers Calendar Release Party) at @Saint Arnold Brewing Compay’s new Beer Garden in early December (Tuesday Dec, 11) . Note: Jennifer is one of the Hottest Brewer calendar models. We might touch on other news in the world of brews, including the Sierra Nevada Brewing’s Butte County Proud IPA fundraiser beer to support Camp Fire relief efforts with 100% of sales will be donated to Camp Fire relief and 1000s of other breweries across the nation — including many in Texas and Houston — joining in to brew a version of the beer for relief efforts.
