Génesis 15: No temas.

Leamos el capítulo de hoy.

Génesis 15:1-16:
1 Después de estas cosas vino la palabra del SEÑOR a Abram en visión, diciendo: —No temas, Abram. Yo soy tu escudo, y tu galardón será muy grande.
2 Abram respondió: —Oh Señor Dios, ¿qué me has de dar? Pues continúo sin hijos, y el heredero de mi casa será Eliezer, de Damasco. 3 —Añadió Abram—: A mí no me has dado descendencia, y he aquí me heredará un criado nacido en mi casa.
4 Y he aquí que la palabra del SEÑOR vino a él diciendo: —No será este el que te herede, sino que alguien que salga de tus entrañas será el que te herede.
5 Entonces lo llevó fuera y le dijo: —Mira, por favor, al cielo y cuenta las estrellas, si acaso las puedes contar. —Y añadió—: Así será tu descendencia.
6 Él creyó al SEÑOR, y le fue contado por justicia. 7 Entonces le dijo: —Yo soy el SEÑOR, que te saqué de Ur de los caldeos, para darte esta tierra como posesión.
8 Él respondió: —Oh SEÑOR Dios, ¿cómo sabré que yo la he de poseer?
9 Le respondió: —Tráeme una vaquilla de tres años, una cabra de tres años, un carnero de tres años, una tórtola y un pichón.
10 Él tomó todos estos animales, los partió por la mitad y puso cada mitad una frente a otra. Pero no partió las aves. 11 Entonces descendieron unos buitres sobre los cuerpos muertos, y Abram los ahuyentaba. 12 Pero cuando el sol estaba por ponerse, cayó sobre Abram un sueño profundo, y he aquí que se apoderó de él el terror de una gran oscuridad. 13 Entonces Dios dijo a Abram: —Ten por cierto que tus descendientes serán forasteros en una tierra que no será suya, y los esclavizarán y los oprimirán cuatrocientos años. 14 Pero yo también juzgaré a la nación a la cual servirán, y después de esto saldrán con grandes riquezas. 15 Pero tú irás a tus padres en paz y serás sepultado en buena vejez. 16 En la cuarta generación volverán acá, pues hasta ahora no ha llegado al colmo la maldad de los amorreos.


En este capítulo el Señor le habló a Abram. Dios vió que Abram estaba preocupado, triste, y la incertidumbre estaba llenando su mente de pensamientos que producían en él desánimo.
Es por eso que este capítulo comienza con las palabras del Señor afirmando su corazón, diciéndole que no temiera, que Dios lo protegería y le daría recompensas.
Abram aprovechó esta oportunidad para decirle lo que realmente lo atormentaba: no tenía hijos, y preguntó cómo podría él heredar alguna tierra si no tenía descendencia a quien dejarle toda esa herencia que el Señor le había prometido.
Dios hizo algo hermoso: Él le dio otro ejemplo a Abram para que pudiera visualizar a su descendencia.
Al principio, cuando Dios llamó a Abram, Él le ilustró su descendencia comparándola con la arena del desierto. Cada grano de arena representaba a uno de sus hijos.
En este capítulo, Dios lo animó a levantar su cabeza cabizbaja y triste, le dijo a Abram que mirara las estrellas del cielo y las cuente, que así sería el número de su descendencia.
Dios renovó su pacto con Abram y le mostró visiones sobrenaturales, y le profetizó el proceso que su descendencia experimentaría; en este caso, es el pueblo de Israel en la tierra de Egipto.

Hoy quiero que recuerdes esto: el Señor te mira, Él te escucha y observa como está tu corazón. Hoy escuchamos su voz que nos dice: “No temas”. Solo tienes que expresarle con corazón sincero lo que sientes, lo que te preocupa; y comenzarás a ver la gloria de Dios en tu vida. Verás como el Señor te mostrará las bendiciones, y también te revelará su plan para ti y tu descendencia.
Recuerda las palabras del Señor Jesucristo en Mateo 6:34: "Así que, no se afanen por el día de mañana, porque el día de mañana traerá su propio afán. Basta a cada día su propio mal."
Lo importante es no dejarse llevar por el afán.

Escudriñemos:
Usa el método de estudio llamado VISUALÍZALO, y recrea el evento donde Dios habla con Abram, le da confianza y le indica que mire al cielo.

Genesis 15: Don't be afraid.

Let's read today's chapter.

Genesis 15:1-16 NLT:
Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”
But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.”
Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”
And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. Then the Lord told him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as your possession.”
But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, how can I be sure that I will actually possess it?”
The Lord told him, “Bring me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” So Abram presented all these to him and killed them. Then he cut each animal down the middle and laid the halves side by side; he did not, however, cut the birds in half. Some vultures swooped down to eat the carcasses, but Abram chased them away.
As the sun was going down, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a terrifying darkness came down over him. Then the Lord said to Abram, “You can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years. But I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and in the end they will come away with great wealth. (As for you, you will die in peace and be buried at a ripe old age.) After four generations your descendants will return here to this land, for the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant their destruction.”



In this chapter the Lord spoke to Abram. God saw that Abram was worried, sad, and uncertainty was filling his mind with thoughts that made him discouraged.
That is why this chapter begins with the words of the Lord affirming his heart, telling him not to be afraid, that God would protect him and give him rewards.
Abram took this opportunity to tell him what really tormented him: he had no children, and he asked how he could inherit any land if he had no offspring to leave all that inheritance that the Lord had promised him.
God did something beautiful: He gave Abram another example so that he could visualize his offspring.
In the beginning, when God called Abram, He illustrated his descendants by comparing them to the desert sand. Each grain of sand represented one of his children.
In this chapter, God encouraged him to raise his head downcast and sad, He told Abram to look at the stars in the sky and count them, that would be the number of his offspring.
God renewed his covenant with Abram and showed him supernatural visions, and prophesied the process that his descendants would experience; in this case, it is the people of Israel in the land of Egypt.

Today I want you to remember this: the Lord looks at you, He listens to you and observes how your heart is. Today we hear His voice telling us: “Do not be afraid”. You just have to express Him with a sincere heart what you feel, what worries you; and you will begin to see the glory of God in your life. You will see how the Lord will show you the blessings, and will also reveal His plan for you and your descendants.
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:34:“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
The important thing is not to get carried away by eagerness.

Let's scrutinize:
Use the study method called VISUALIZE IT, and recreate the event where God speaks with Abram, gives him confidence and directs him to look at the sky.
