show more- Joseph in Potiphar's House: Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers, ends up in Egypt where he is bought by Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard. The Lord blesses Joseph, and he prospers in Potiphar's house, eventually becoming overseer of all his master's affairs because of his integrity and capability.
- Joseph's Temptation: Potiphar's wife attempts to seduce Joseph. Despite her persistent advances, Joseph resists, stating that he would not sin against God by doing such a thing. One day, when he's alone in the house, she grabs his cloak, but he flees, leaving the cloak behind.
- False Accusation and Imprisonment: Potiphar's wife uses the cloak as evidence to falsely accuse Joseph of trying to assault her. Potiphar, hearing this, becomes furious and has Joseph imprisoned.
- Joseph in Prison: Even in prison, the Lord remains with Joseph, showing him kindness and granting him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. Joseph is put in charge of all those held in the prison, and everything he does prospers because the Lord is with him.
This chapter highlights themes of integrity, temptation, and divine favor, illustrating how Joseph's faithfulness to God leads to his rise, even in adverse circumstances.
